IntaWood Products Ltd was founded in 2006 by John and Lisa Kay, starting as a joinery company in John and Lisa's home garage.

What started as sending out a few flyers and making some kitchens ended up seeing John travelling to Fiji, assisting with joinery and CAD software training for a large construction project. Upon his return in 2011, John was then given the opportunity to supply commercial and residential joinery to two projects in the Solomon Islands over 2+ years. Returning to New Zealand, John was determined to grow his own company and IntaWood established themselves in a small building at the Matangi dairy factory.

Persevering through a global recession and pandemic, IntaWood now operates at a purpose-built facility near Hamilton Airport where they have more than doubled their capacity. Every step of the way, producing excellent, crafted products has been integral to IntaWood and the business is supported by a team passionate about achieving this mission.
